
ARBS Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) Project Leadership Award 2010
Nominations are called for Australian Environmental Sustainable Design projects that demonstrate innovation or technical advancement with the potential to significantly reduce the effect either directly or indirectly upon the environment. Judging will be based on practical evidence from end users or scientifically tested endorsements/audit.
Application evaluation will consider innovation in design demonstrating ESD, potential commercial viability and leadership in design.
Entry Criteria:
• Project must be commissioned within the last 3 years
• Project can be nominated by any involved company eg designer, consultant, contractor, developer
• Project can be a new or a retrofit project or extension
• The focus should be on HVAC or Refrigeration, or a combination thereof
Other information required:
• Full name, address and contact details of nominee
• Provide contact details of an independent testimonial such as end user/owner
• In one typed page provide an executive summary of what makes this project stand out as an ESD and why, including its significance to the HVAC & R industry
• Describe your project (design and installation)
• What was the driving force behind the project? (objectives, identified needs)
• How was the project delivered? (innovation, resources, collaboration)
• How did it solve problems and/or overcome challenges? (application of innovative technologies and/or techniques to ESD)
• Measurability/resources saved; the value of innovation/sustainability
• What is the impact on the environment, on industry, regulation or the community?
• Attach supporting materials. This may include photos or a video of special features
• Judges may visit finalist projects. Include permission from the owner to enter the competition and visit the site.
