Call for Speakers & Presenters

Here is your chance to be part of a dynamic event that showcases industry innovation and best
practice in the Air conditioning, Refrigeration and Building Services sector. 

Share your accomplishments and expertise in a key industry environment where education, innovation
and technology converge. 

ARBS 2010 will focus on practical applications, skill building, new technologies/new application of
existing technologies, lessons learned, case studies, innovations and impact of the current economic
and environmental climate on the HVAC&R & building services industry.

Subject matter may include (but is not limited to):

• Regulatory and Environmental issues
• Energy efficiency/energy management/compliance
• Sustainable design or development
• Climate adaptation/green buildings/retrofits

• IAQ/Building comfort rating tools
• Maintenance/Plant Optimisation

• Instrumentation and controls
• The future of HVAC & R or a component thereof
• Global industry trends

• Maximising business opportunities in the current climate-triple bottom lines
• Geothermal and alternative power/heating sources
• Data collection, benefits and applications
• Industry specialist tips

Sessions will be held on April 12th, 13th and 14th 2010 in the following formats:

1. Individual sessions - (30- 45 minutes including question time)
2. Panel sessions  - (45 minutes excluding question time) comprising of one chair and two-three speakers with individual views on topic.  Opinions are discussed  with  each other and the audience as guided by the chair.
3. Workshop - (30-45 minutes) a hands on experience for the audience, such as instruction and demonstration.  (Note: ARBS Exhibitions seminar sessions prohibit product, manufacturer-specific or commercially orientated sales pitches during the presentations.)
4. Places are limited, so don’t miss the opportunity to submit your abstract for ARBS 2010!

Selected presenters will receive:

• Professional kudos, listings and recognition in ARBS publications and website
• Free access to sessions not sold out
• Speaker ribbon and badge, recognising you as an ARBS 2010 seminar speaker

Prior to submitting an abstract, please read below.

SUBMISSION PROCESS

1. Send the application form and additional information to: seminars@arbs.com.au or  Fax: 61 (03) 9557 0213.
2. All submissions will be acknowledged by email. 
3. Abstracts may focus on a combination of topics, such as sustainable design, or have a singular application, i.e. a new installation technique.
4. Consider what your audience can gain from the presentation. How have you identified and addressed problems, and or techniques? How does your presentation convey a fresh approach to a subject? It is preferred, but not a prerequisite to have presented before.
5. Attach additional information, such as previous presentations on a PC platform.
6. Abstracts will be reviewed by industry peers, who may request further information.
7. All submissions will be treated as confidential.

If your presentation is chosen:
1. You will be contacted by ARBS Exhibitions.
2. You will be required to sign a contract confirming the date, time and presentation content.

Please note: ARBS Exhibitions prohibits product, manufacturer-specific or commercially orientated sales pitches during the seminar presentations.

The submission deadline is 5pm August 28th 2009.

APPLICATION TIMELINE
August 28th 2009– Deadline for abstract applications
September 14th 2009– Provisional acceptance of abstract
October 12th 2009 - Deadline for full presentation and biography
November 2009 – Applicant notified of acceptance
April 12-14th 2010– Presentation at ARBS 2010, Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour
