IB02: Cyber Security The Internet of Threats

Raymond Frangie, Senior Cyber Security Consultant, Norman, Disney & Young

One of the many buzzwords we come across in our daily lives is “Cyber Security”. In most cases, this buzzword usually precedes the statement “I’m not entirely sure as to what it is, but I know I need it”. Understanding cyber security in its entirety is not for the faint hearted. To further complicate things, this buzzword is synonymously used with another buzzword, “Information Security”. Although often used hand in hand, there are differences.

This session will highlight the fundamentals of cyber security, threat intelligence, and how a simple inadvertent mistake of connecting your built environment to the Internet, can allow an attacker to access or manipulate your data, damage your brand, or ultimately destroy your reputation. Furthermore, this session will provide an insight into the activities of hackers across the globe, captured live during this presentation.
