SM37: What’s happening to refrigeration and air conditioning training?
This seminar will provide an overview of the national training system and where the refrigeration and air conditioning industry fits into it, including the Electrotechnology, Metals and Engineering, Plumbing and Automotive Training Packages. It will focus on the main changes in the revised RAC qualifications, Skills Sets and Competences contained in the UEE Electrotechnology Training Package to include the latest refrigerants, standards and technologies.

Noel Munkman, Technical & Training, Manager, Australian Refrigeration Council
Noel Munkman is the Technical and Training Manager at the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC). Noel has spent his career shaping training for the refrigeration and air conditioning sector through senior roles with TAFE NSW, WorldSkills Australia and E-Oz Energy Skills Australia. In his current role at ARC, Noel helps technicians and businesses improve their day-to-day operations, as well as participating in various national industry and technical committees and working groups to recommend solutions for safety issues, technology, training and refrigerant evolution in the sector.
