SM39: Delivering Energy Efficient Large Open Space Projects
For HVAC engineers & building owners, it is an ongoing challenge to deliver cost-effective, energy efficient HVAC solutions and also provide occupant comfort in large open spaces like Sports & Aquatic centers.
In this session we will explore the importance of a wholistic approach to building design and the importance of getting the foundation pieces right, specifically stakeholder buy-in, building sealing and compatible HVAC plant. We will then explore using a low velocity +ve pressure air-side HVAC control strategy to both efficiently deliver the air into the space & best manage the conditions to ensure occupant comfort. Finally, the session will tie everything together with some examples of actual delivered projects.
