SS06: Cold Hard Facts - An Annual Update

Following the publication of the third major report in the Cold Hard Facts research series (CHF3) in 2018, the Department of Agriculture, Water and Environment commissioned the Expert Group to immediately begin compilation of raw data from 2017 and 2018 to publish in a new edition of Cold Hard Facts in 2019. Thereafter Expert Group have been contracted to produce annual updates incorporating 2019 data into an edition for publication in 2020, and again in 2021.

The annual updates of Cold Hard Facts will focus on changes to the bank of refrigerants in Australia. This requires the stock model of installed equipment to be updated and will reveal annual rates of change in adoption of new technology and new refrigerants, data and trends that will enable improved forecasting of demand for HFCs.

As the market introduces and employs more and more non-HFC refrigerants that are not required to be reported at the point of importation, capturing data on imports of pre-charged equipment and on consumption of bulk gas, will require active industry participation.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

HVAC&R Industry Groups; Industry Associations; Government & policy makers and other interested parties.
